Additives, Flavourings and Enzymes

The European legislation for the use of additives, flavourings and enzymes in foods is set out in the Food Improvement Agents Package (FIAP). This concerns:

  • A common authorisation procedure for food additives, food enzymes and food flavourings as set out in Regulation (EC) no. 1331/2008. Click here for additional information about this Regulation.

In the Netherlands, the provisions of these regulations have been implemented in the Commodities Act (WaW) through means of the Food Additives, Flavourings and Enzymes (Commodities Act) Decree
