Letter minister about sustainable production and ending deforestation Minister Kaag explains approach, role of IMVO Convenants, Amsterdam Declaration Partnership and the new NI-SCOPS program

Last week, minister Kaag sent a letter to the parliament about the plans to get to more sustainable palm oil and soy production, to end deforestation and the respective roles of the banking sector, the food sector and NOG's. The minister also refers to the National Initiatives for Sustainable Climate-smart Oil Palm Smallholders (NI-SCOPS) program. This is a 5-year program with a budget of 57 million Euro. The goal is to work in close collaboration with the governments of the producing countries to get to deforestation free and climate-friendly palm oil production by smallholders.

MVO is closely involved in these discussions and contributes to the dialogues to align the respective plans and promote the MVO vision.
